Border Curling Development Group

The BCDG project for the 30 - 55 age group to try curling starts at the end of this month. CLICK HERE for copy of the press release, or CLICK HERE to go to the development pages on the BIR site.

A 20 strong will visited the Borders on 24th - 26th January. There were 8 games of curling and the Borders won 7 of them with a score of 60 - 40 for the home side.

We must have impressed the visitors, as they remarked at their closing banquet one of their highlights of their trip was their visit to Kelso and the "Burns Supper". Good to get a special mention!!! There are some photos on the Canadian Site

As mentioned in the last E-NEWS, there is an initiative to involve the clubs to do more pro-active work in getting new members and a grant is available from the RCCC for clubs to hold their own come and try nights and/or development project.

If your club can arrange an original project, then £200 per club is available to you, or £100 for ideas based on projects in the Club Development Manual.

Some clubs have taken up this offer and getting their grant. Does your club need new members? Contact Jim Buchanan for details
